Cows

Very exciting news! Just after coming home from Knepp and seeing large herbivores properly in action, three cows have arrived. They’re here a three-week stint to help eat grass, produce poop, make a mess and generally be their wonderful cow selves. A family of Dexters, they’re a mum and her two children: Wilma, Wellington and Winnie (not her official name, but the one we’re giving her). Wonderful to see them wading through the grass and exploring the site. They’ve been fenced into the lower portion of the site, away from the natural regeneration along the ditch, and away from the meadow and wooded areas. So they’ll be focused on the central, wetter and scrubbier portion.
